2004 US Junior Space Modeling Team

Report of the Contest Director

An FAI Team Selection Flyoffs was held on August 2-3, 2003 to select the 2004 U.S. Junior Space Modeling Team. AMA sanction number was 03-1954. The site was a club field in Evansville, Indiana. The event was held coincident with NARAM-45, the US national model rocket championships. We would like to express our appreciation to the NARAM-45 team and especially to the NARAM-45 Contest Director, Lila Schmaker, for their help and cooperation.

CD for the FAI team selection event was Ryan Woebkenberg. The contest jury was Woebkenberg, Tony Reynolds, and John Langford.

Seven contestants participated: Abby Clark, Fritz Langford, Sam Clark, Esther Clark, Ben Reynolds, Gib Reynolds, and George Reynolds.

Eight events were held, pursuant to the FAI Sporting Code and the policies and procedures set forth by Robert Kreutz and the Spacemodeling Team selection committee.

The events were interrupted by thunderstorms and heavy rain, so frequent rescheduling of events was required.
